SAMFS Northern Command Centre

Project Details:

Lightlogix provided the advanced Dynalite Lighting Controls System to Davies Electrical, along with comprehensive design, programming, and commissioning services, for the new Salisbury Command Fire Station. This project was critical to the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service’s mission of delivering efficient and effective emergency response services. Lightlogix‘s technical expertise and commitment to quality enabled the fire station to achieve its operational objectives and respond effectively to emergencies.

The fire station was designed with longevity and efficiency in mind, utilising a distributed intelligence control system to minimise maintenance and maximise energy savings. Lightlogix‘s expertise in programming ensured that the station’s lighting provided optimal illumination for all functional areas throughout its 24-hour operations, while also contributing to a safe, comfortable, and productive work environment for firefighters.

The station is equipped with four Appliance Bays, a Major Incident Control Centre, Technical Rescue training facilities, and an Emergency Services Staging Area. Additionally, the station offers accommodations for an Area Commander, living quarters for firefighters, a gymnasium, kitchen, lounge, and a community room. The station also features provisions for donning and doffing protective gear, including a space for cleaning gear after a callout.

Lightlogix skillfully integrated the Lighting Control System with the Brigade Alarm, which automatically increases light levels to wake up staff while simultaneously illuminating key areas like the muster areas, appliance bays, and driveways. Additionally, the system automatically isolates non-essential power circuits and gas solenoids in the kitchen upon departure of responders, ensuring a safe and secure environment. This advanced integration enhances response times and mitigates potential risks.
